'Restaurant & Community Space.'

Dumpling & Co. and the Book Collective is designed to be spaces of inclusivity, celebrating community, family and all things good that come with it. Inspired by the rich history of handmaking dumplings and La Mian (拉面), the restaurant and library spaces aim to focus on nostalgic and warm connections - between people, their environment, objects, and memories. Serving fresh, handmade and wholesome dumplings and noodles, Dumpling & Co. emphasises the importance of slow design,not only in the food it serves, but through its interior environment and the experiences it creates with users.

 

The Book Collective also reinforces this idea with the added extra of it being a community run library and bookstore valuing book exchanges and welcoming donations. It is designed as a place for interaction, piquing user curiosity.and bringing a whimsical narrative to life. The Book Collective also acts as additional restaurant space where users can dine.

 

The two spaces rely on recycled and reclaimed materials and objects to combine and inform the notions of social, cultural and environmental sustainability
